The Masters of Crystal

Crystal Automata: mechanical marvels at the Milan Design Week 2016

PRECIOSA Lighting - Crystal Automata

We are heading to the center of design with crystal installations inspired by mechanical movement and the fascinating craftsmanship behind glassmaking and clockworks.

The city of Milan will once again concentrate the best of design into one week in April and we cannot wait to show you the growing complexity of our lighting and decorative installations. We will present the uniqueness of Bohemian Crystal through masterful craftsmanship, the natural wealth of Crystal Valley and the amazement once it's infused with light.

A Masterpiece of Art and Engineering

Last year, we had a special fountain that predicted the promising future of crystal. It received global recognition, from the Red Dot Design Award to the German Design Award and the iF Design Award. Now it's time to reveal Crystal Automata which effectively combine the basic principles of mechanical movement with the four elements. Their technology can be characterized by precise craftsmanship that oscillates between art and engineering. Everyone will have the chance to examine its complexity and appreciate perfection in motion as it won't be hidden in a black box, but exposed to the eye similarly as mechanics in wristwatches.

Discover the whole story of Bohemian Alchemists and Crystal Automata from Crystal Valley in Milan's Tortona District (Via Tortona 31) where we will present new additions to the Collections series, a range of distinctive handmade pieces developed by our master glassblowers and leading Czech designers, and other brilliant pieces.

Giorgio Piotto Enlightened by PRECIOSA Lighting

"Just be surrounded by beautiful and unusual things and be overwhelmed by the power of their shapes and colours."

- Giorgio Piotto

We share the same passion for high quality materials, time-proven tradition and groundbreaking innovation with the owner of the Italian luxury furniture brand. We will also share the same stand at Salone del Mobile (Hall 3, G32 - G39). Giorgio Piotto will be enlightened by some of our most breathtaking installations, so make sure to check it out.

1 Design Week. 2 Venues.

To make it crystal clear: we will be present at two venues during Milan Design Week. Our main exhibition will take place in the Tortona District (Via Tortona 31). Selected lighting installations will shine over the furniture of Italian luxury brand Giorgio Piotto at Salone del Mobile (Hall 3, G32 - G39). Both should give you more than enough inspiration for your next projects.
