The two times javelin throwing Olympic champion Barbora Spotakova from the Czech Republic received an exclusive present from her hometown Jablonec nad Nisou – a luxurious chandelier Elmo, produced by Preciosa Lighting.

Since 2005 when Barbora won the gold medal at the World University Games, she has been breaking one record after another and winning big sport events all over the world. The gold medals from the Olympic Games in Beijing and London and two victories at the Diamond League belong to her greatest success. The Czech president honoured Barbora with the medal for her merits on the 28th October 2012 (state holiday and important day in the Czech Republic).

For her exceptional sport results and representation the town of Jablonec nad Nisou awarded Barbora the honorary citizenship and the chandelier by the company Preciosa Lighting, a typical representative of the glass industry famous in this region of the Czech Republic.

After the visit of Preciosa showroom, Barbora chose the Elmo chandelier which connects the skills of 100 years of the chandelier production with the unique modern design and the latest production technologies. Whereas hand blowing, binding and grinding of the glass components on this chandelier represents traditional glass craft, modern light sources are the result of the innovative technological approach. This chandelier uses unique arms not only as a decorative part but also as a practical source of light.
Chandelier Elmo, Elias in in translation, got this name because of the design of its arms which were inspired by the atmospheric phenomenon called the Fire of Elias.
