Berkshire-based English Provender is giving one lucky bidder the chance to own a taste of the Royal Wedding by auctioning a unique jar of commemorative chutney. The special chutney brings together the aptly-named William Pear and Catherine Peach, bound with a generous helping of Champagne to really set the occasion off. And if that’s not enough, this exclusive chutney comes in a regal bespoke jar hand-studded with Preciosa crystals. Preciosa are the world leading producer of cut crystal and their charitable Foundation helps to fund communities in their local region – so their crystals really are that extra bit special!
Just two jars of this commemorative chutney have been produced, hand-made at English Provender Company’s kitchen in Newbury. One will be auctioned on eBay with proceeds going to Berkshire Community Foundation – one of the 26 charitable organisations that have been nominated by the couple for the wedding. The other jar will be delivered to the Palace as a wedding gift for Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Grahame Wright, Marketing Director, English Provender Company said: “We couldn’t possibly let this historic occasion pass by without marking the event, particularly as we are situated in the Royal County of Berkshire and just a short drive away from Kate’s family home. And what better way for us to commemorate the Royal Wedding than by producing a celebratory product made with William’s and Kate’s fruity namesakes. The addition of Champagne means that the lucky auction winner can raise a spoon to toast the happy couple! Bidding for the commemorative jar starts at just 99p, so even if you haven’t received an invitation there’s still a chance to have a bite of the Royal Wedding.”
Andrew Middleton, Chief Executive, Berkshire Community Foundation said: “We are delighted that English Provender has decided to donate the proceeds of their ‘royal’ chutney to us. Berkshire is a very special place to live and work – something that Prince William and Kate have recognised by selecting us as one of their nominated charities. Like us, they want to see community life in the county continue to thrive, and together we can make this happen.”
